Event overview

Changes to retirement village laws and regulations will begin on 1 September 2026.

The changes will be introduced in stages to give residents and village operators time to prepare.

Information sessions for village operators will:

  • outline the staged approach to implementation of the reforms and associated timeframes for each stage
  • discuss what operators and managers need to do to prepare for each stage
  • give you the opportunity to raise any questions you may have.

The personal information you provide through this form will be used by the Department of Local Government, Industry Regulation and Safety (LGIRS) to:

  • record and manage attendance at an event
  • review event with attendees

We will not be providing this information to anyone outside our organisation.  

We will not disclose personal information about you to anybody else, unless you have given consent, or we are authorised or required to do so by law.
